Description
A spectacular giant decorative dahlia, Penhill Watermelon produces enormous, deeply ruffled blooms in dreamy shades of watermelon pink, coral, peach and creamy yellow. Its twisting, informal petals give each flower a wonderfully loose and romantic appearance, with the colouring often shifting subtly as the season progresses.
Bred by W. H. Maritz in South Africa in 2000, Penhill Watermelon has become a much-loved dinner-plate dahlia and a standout in the cutting garden. With blooms reaching up to 30cm across, it is a true statement flower, while its long stems make it especially impressive in large floral arrangements.
